Let's get acquainted linky!

I am linking up with Flying into First Grade for the Let's Get Acquainted Linky Party!!
This week's is a trio of questions.  I hope you enjoy it!

What made you decide to become a teacher?

I have always wanted to be a teacher.  I never wanted to be anything else growing up so all the experiences I have had as a preteen and teen were in preparation to becoming a teacher. I was also one of those that would play teacher with my dolls.

2. What has been your most rewarding experience as a teacher?

A couple of years ago I received a letter from one of my former students.  It had been only a couple of years since I had her.  She wrote me a beautiful thank you letter.  It made my day!

3. If you were not a teacher, what would you be?

This is an idea that I can think about when I get stressed.  I think I have it down to three possibilities.

1.  Doula/ Midwife
After giving birth three times and having three totally different experiences, I would love to help other women through the process.

2.  Women's rights advocate in three world countries.  You cannot imagine what happens to women in other countries.  I have just scratched the surface of their experience and I just feel drawn to them. I warn my husband that this is what I want to do when I "grow up" ie retire.

3.  Crime scene investigator
I love the science and yes I have the stomach for it.  About 6 years ago I had the privilege to attend NCCAT.  For those outside North Carolina, there is a place for teachers.  They have week long seminars on varying topics.  If you are chosen to go, it is free.  There is free lodging, free meals and your sub is provided.  I got to go one summer and work with the famed Bill Blass.  He is the originator of the body farm in Tennessee.  One aspect of this particular seminar dealt with a pig carcass and insects.  I was the first one to get in on the mess.  I also did not have to utilize the vicks or masks.  It was funny because that night's dinner (I kid you not!) was pork and couscous!  I had a ball that week!!

I hope that I did not gross you out too much!
